My pathetic tiny start on Mirabilia's Emerald Mermaid.

All ready for the first swim lesson!

Day 121

A bit of vanished Atlanta. Rich's opened in Atlanta in 1867 as M. Rich Drygoods Store. The name became Rich's in 1924. In 1994, the parent company of Rich's bought out Macy's. In 2003 the stores became Rich's-Macy's. On March 6, 2005, the name became simply Macy's, and an Atlanta institution was no more.

The Macy's store at Northpoint Mall was once a Rich's. I had no idea this plaque was still there, high up, until DS pointed it out to me. I immediately whipped out the camera to get the pic. I still miss Rich's.

Day 120

This is DS's haul today. Crocs (for the child that didn't want Crocs, he couldn't find any flip flops he liked), dress shoes for 6th grade graduation (although I think it's silly to make such a big deal of leaving elementary school), and a Georgia Tech shirt that he saw and immediately coveted.

Day 119

Jellyfish at the Georgia Aquarium. I believe these are moon jellies.

Day 118

I forgot to take a picture today, but this is the picture I would have taken. Kids signed up for the summer reading program at the library. Also pictured are Barnes and Noble sheets to keep track of books you've read. When you've reached 8, you earn a free book. DD is halfway there already!

Day 117

Rehearsing Irish dance for recital. There was a whole line of kids in this photo, but I cropped them out and left just my two. Note that DS is dancing in his socks. He forgot to bring his dance shoes.

Day 116

I went to Williams Sonoma in a sort of upscale strip mall to purchase DD an apron. They have statues scattered all around, mostly of kids. I found this one right between J. Crew and Ann Taylor. Seemed sort of random to just have a pig sitting there, and it amused me. :) I have named him Wilbur.

Day 115

My husband's tie collection. Note the really bright red flowered one.

Day 114

China Dolls rehearsing their recital dance.

Day 113

Flying biscuits from the Flying Biscuit Cafe. We had to wait a long time for our food, so they brought us biscuits to munch. Since most of our meals also came with biscuits, we ended up have some left over to take home. DS has discovered a love for these. This was his first time eating one, since he always orders the organic oatmeal pancakes, which don't come with a biscuit.

Day 112

Crocs! DD's first pair. She's taking swim lessons this summer and needed something to wear to the pool. She chose a cotton candy pink mary jane style. And of course we got jibbitz. She received a Hannah Montana guitar one free with the shoe purchase, then she chose ballet shoes, Belle from Beauty and the Beast, and Blue from Blues Clues. She wanted a Miss Piggy one, but they were all out.

I offered DS crocs as well, but he didn't want any. Says he'd rather have flip flops to wear to the pool.

Day 111

The clouds were pretty this afternoon, and I thought this shot was nice.

Day 110

A small plaque on the wall of our bedroom. I believe it was a wedding gift.

Day 109

Working on a rainstick at the last Brownie meeting of the school year.

Tuesday, May 12, 2009

Day 108

Fabric hanging up waiting to be stitched on. But somehow I never seem to have the color I need.

Day 107

The odometer in my car at about 2:23 this afternoon. We bought the car new, so we are the ones that put all those miles on it!

Sunday, May 10, 2009

Day 106

Mother's Day card and magnet made for me by DD. I love butterflies!

Saturday, May 09, 2009

Day 105

New cell phone! Lavender Motorola razr.

Friday, May 08, 2009

Day 104

The fountain downtown.

Thursday, May 07, 2009

Day 103

Yummy licorice flavored candy. A box lasts me awhile, since I only eat a couple a day.

Wednesday, May 06, 2009

Day 102

My new treadmill. Now I can walk even when the weather outside doesn't cooperate.

Tuesday, May 05, 2009

Day 101

Homemade yogurt! I was pretty jazzed that I could successfully make it, even if it was a bit runny.

Monday, May 04, 2009

Day 100

Orange chocolate chip muffins. They didn't come out quite like I'd hoped, but they got eaten.

Sunday, May 03, 2009

Day 99

Peach ice cream! The first peach cone of summer from Bruster's. Unfortunately, my preferred Bruster's didn't have peach yet, so I had to settle for a peach cone from the other one. Their ice cream doesn't taste nearly as good as my preferred location, and sadly, that goes for the peach as well. Oh well, I have four months to eat it from the good location!

Day 98

The local post office. I was bored waiting on DH, and I thought the architecture was a bit unusual, so I snapped a pic.

Friday, May 01, 2009

Day 97

Mini Moon Pie! DS asked me what Moon Pies were. I couldn't believe he'd made it to 12 years old without encountering one, but then, I don't buy them. I got some for the kids to try, and the minis were what I found. They want to try the banana flavored ones next...
