Day 121
A bit of vanished Atlanta. Rich's opened in Atlanta in 1867 as M. Rich Drygoods Store. The name became Rich's in 1924. In 1994, the parent company of Rich's bought out Macy's. In 2003 the stores became Rich's-Macy's. On March 6, 2005, the name became simply Macy's, and an Atlanta institution was no more.
The Macy's store at Northpoint Mall was once a Rich's. I had no idea this plaque was still there, high up, until DS pointed it out to me. I immediately whipped out the camera to get the pic. I still miss Rich's.
