January 31- Day 7

This is one of the entrances of the Reid House, with ornamental ironwork. It's across the street from the High Museum in downtown Atlanta. I saw it today when we went to the High to see the Chinese Terracotta Warriors, and I had to take a picture. I had no idea what the Reid House was, so I looked it up online, and apparently it is condominiums! The building was completed in 1924 by architect Neil Reid, hence the name Reid House.

January 30- Day 6

DD likes to play store. She has a Disney Princess cash register that talks. It came with tags that have scannable barcodes, or you can punch in an amount. It says the amount, and at the end gives you the total, and a choice of cash or debit. She can play with the thing for hours.

January 29- Day 5

These are Halloween My Little Ponies from a couple of years ago. DD loves My Little Pony, and I love Halloween stuff, so we each ended up with a set. These are mine (obviously!) on display in my china cabinet. The cabinet does not hold china, but rather knicknacks and a few stitched pieces. The drawers and shelves underneath hold stitching stuff and pictures.

January 28- Day 4

This is the view out of my stitching room window. Not much to see except leafless trees and pine straw.

January 27- Day 3

DS doing his homework. Usually it is quite a struggle to get him to do it, but lately he's been much better about it. I hope he keeps it up!

January 26- Day 2

DD is stitching. She's just started a new project, JBW Designs French Country Rabbit. This makes 3 projects she has in progress, although I think the Watercolour Dogs may have been abandoned for lack of interest any longer. Mary Kirby in Wisconsin I know she'll finish, she adores Mary Kirby designs.

January 25- Day 1

I'm starting Project 365. The basic idea is to take a photo a day for 365 consecutive days. I got the idea from Erin, and it sounded like fun. So, my first picture.

This is the Lion Dance, performed at the Atlanta History Center as part of their Lunar New Year program. We saw a documentary on Chinese New Year as well, and there were other dances and such. DD made some crafts, a Chinese fan and a red envelope. The envelope traditionally holds money given as a new year's gift, usually (I think!) from older people to younger members of the family.

DS was too old for the crafts, but he enjoyed the Lion Dance and the martial arts demonstration. DH said the Lion Dance alone was worth going for, and it was!
